Scott K. Tippett, a partner with Hagan Barrett, PLLC, has been tapped to present “Asset Protection Trusts: Domestic and Offshore” as part of a two-day seminar, “Trusts: The Ultimate Guide,” offered by the National Business Institute as continuing legal education for professionals on November 15 at the Hilton Durham in Durham, NC.

Tippett, whose practice focuses on wealth management law and business and real estate issues for individuals, families, and small- to medium-sized closely-held companies, will address a wide range of issues relating to asset protection trusts including self-settled trusts, tax compliance and reporting, jurisdiction issues, and spendthrift provisions.

“In my extensive legal experience, I have found that the complexity of trusts can create confusion. My objective is to help professionals including other attorneys, accountants and CPAs, trust officers, wealth managers, financial planners, and senior living administrators, understand the key issues that may impact their clients as they structure trusts as part of their estate planning,” said Tippett.
